We love to quilt. Jessica and I started making quilts together when she was about 11-years-old. This is a blessing to be able to share what we’ve learned through the years. These are not blocks only, these lessons are complete quilting projects for a wonderful finished quilt. We have recently updated the membership to include several blocks in each lesson (two to three depending) with a goal of finishing the quilt in about 3–4 months. This puts the total cost of learning to make the quilt between $15-$20. We feel this is a better investment for members, plus more appealing for those who don’t want to take 7 months or more to finish a quilt.
The membership is $5.00 a month (Or join both for $8 a month) The price of one quilting class could be as much as $80. With our membership you are getting a monthly classes, at a wonderful price of $5.00 a month. These memberships recur monthly and can be canceled by contacting us. Just email if we can answer any questions.
You can join the membership at anytime. Your membership entitles you to the download available for the month (it changes around the 30th). Back blocks become available for purchase as the next block goes up. We will put up a “Back Block Purchase” section as we switch to the new block. You must be a member of the current membership to buy the back blocks.
We currently have two quilting memberships!
Current Ladies Project
Current Girl’s Project
The first is our Ladies Society Quilting, our monthly block membership. This is for more confident beginners but any level quilter. Although some blocks are difficult, we try to expand directions for those less experienced. Blocks, at times, will have embroidery with ribbon and thread, and other techniques that we would consider advanced.
We then have The Girl’s Quilting Society, our newest membership for girls ages 10 or 11+. This follows the same pattern as the Ladies Membership, but the blocks are more geared for less confident beginners. You can be an adult and feel no shame joining this level! We call it the Girl’s Society because it’s a great place for this age level to start.
Both memberships are for complete projects, not just blocks. When we finish one project, we start another the next month. Past blocks can be purchased and the links will be on the main page for downloads.
Our PDF tutorials show you step by step how to construct each block. You can start the memberships at any point during the project. Don’t worry if you missed the past blocks! All past blocks can be purchased from a special page made available to our members only.
Our blocks have full color photography, just like our magazine issues of projects.
Our new Joyous Home Community!
In the past we have used a private forum to communicate with our members. This blocked a lot of interested ladies who just wanted to see what we were all about. Our community is a wonderful opportunity for non-members to still visit with us!
Beginners in quilting can join either group. If you are an adult and feel that advanced techniques are not for you and just need the basics, you are welcome to join our girl’s group.
In the community you can meet members, ask questions and get some help putting together your block and fellowship with the other quilt block members. Please note that many members cannot and have not contributed as anticipated. Being online is time consuming. We do not want to require posting to be part of the group so we give grace and hope that our members will post as they make their projects. Make yourself known in the groups and Lord willing the community will jump start.
If you know our magazine, I’m sure you know how visual Jessica and I are. Personally, I need more visual help with my projects than print help, so I try to make everything beginner proof!
Basic needs:
You should have a sewing machine, rotary cutter and mat, a ruler such as ‘Quilter’s rule’ or Quilt Sense (6″ x 24″) and be ready to buy fabric, cotton and embroidery thread, embellishments and fusible interfacing for each block. Visit the supply page below for detailed supplies.
Quilting Supply Page
It helps when quilting time comes, to have a walking foot on your machine if available, but it can still be quilted without one or you can also hand quilt your piece, giving it a more traditional look.
What your membership includes:
- Monthly PDF Instructions for blocks/embellishments, and the final month to include all finishing instructions, with color photography– A Season’s must!
- Templates to copy if needed
Enhancements when available:
- Video clips of techniques (Check our community)
Depending on the project, we may add embroidery, bead work etc. The color choice is completely up to you, that is what makes your quilt unique. See supplies for more info!
We enjoy sewing fellowship and desire any interested homemaker to learn these wonderful skills. We will try to keep these lesson priced low. We pray you are blessed by our efforts!
