Hello!

I've been so up and down on my colors with this one. My fabric is due tomorrow, but a little late for what I had in mind. I came up with some foundation blocks for the finishing construction that allowed me to use more color. Here's the quilt top instructions, with two additional blocks for fun - a maple leaf and a bat.

Instructions (I can't figure out why my first page wouldn't take some of second, so the first page is a big ole' title. I gave up there I Dont Know

I'll be posting some more pictures of my top, I'm further along but playing with border colors. I'm having fun sewing even though the challenge seems to be quiet Smile Anyone else?

Some tips! Set your stitch length to 1.8mm, this helps when removing the paper. Also back stitch at the points. The small blocks require you to stop in the middle of the paper, so be careful not to stitch into the adjoining block.
I can't wait to see runners... over the next week we'll finish... I'll be adding some embellishment to my house. I'm going to try to post some embroidery help this coming weekend.

Post on this topic, for this part if you have questions!

I am finally getting back to it after some dental surgery. It's hard to cut & piece when you can't tilt your head down! Working on my surprise block today.

@leisaj Oh no! I hope you heal up quickly and feel better soon! Flowers

I'm starting on my house block but I love the look without too much more. My fabric finally came in yesterday.

I needed to give it a better press last night, the wrinkle at the top makes it look crooked here! It's beautifully straight. Finally got my fabric yesterday and while I wanted to use more of it, at least one lined up with some color.

Here, I added additional borders. The ones in the PDF's PLUS additional borders in purple dot spider... The top/bottom were 3.5" wide, and the sides were 2" wide. I always take a measurement for length, and use the smallest one, but you can use the larger one, it's up to you. Your measurement in length should never be more than a 1/4" in difference. The goal of measuring this way is so your quilt doesn't look crooked when you hang or place it.

@annjoy yours looks great! The bats, leaves and house add a lot to the original. I will get on later today and post some pictures of what I’ve accomplished so far…

The large blocks are done. Maple leaves & bats are next.

Pulled a rookie move and cut my sunflower base to 8.5 inches instead of nine before I put it all together. Luckily, it's off by less that 1/4 inch!

@leisaj Pretty!! Love Kiss I saw this the other day but some images won't show to the public and I wasn't logged in, so couldn't see it, then forgot to get back on.

Note: the block should be 8.5", did you see something else in the doc on it?

- then l broke a filling and spent hours in the dental office Tues afternoon. It slowed me down a bit this week - I'm updating the time frame again, I'll post in a sticky... there will be a little more time for others to join if they want to, gives us all a little more time on finishing!!

Here's exactly where I stopped when I was eating popcorn LOL I can truly say I don't like being in a dentist's office... blah!!! I'm enjoying this redo of the pattern. I love paper piecing.

The sunflower block wasn't enough smaller to make a difference and fit with the others beautifully. My top is together, but there's no way I'll be finishing the runner in the next couple of days. The dental implant I had placed 3 weeks ago got infected and I just had it removed this afternoon. No tilting my head down for the next several days, so no machine or, especially, hand sewing. Fighting Oh well, I'll heal now and have a project to work on when I'm feeling better. Looking forward to enjoying everyone's finished projects.

@leisaj Oh no 🙁 I'm sorry that happened! I'll pray you heal up quickly.
I got an implant post back in May, but it's been a process since last Sept!  ... bone grafting ugh! So this was the other side because it's mainly where I've been chewing, and now I have a crown. Thankfully, the dentist did a great job, but it doesn't make me want to be permanent friends Smile

I'm looking forward to see finished runners!
