Delicious and Easy Homemade Cranberry Sauce Recipe

We have many from homemade recipes for gatherings during the holiday season. This cranberry sauce recipe has become a cherished tradition in our family, and is easy as well as delicious! The process is straightforward—just simmer the ingredients until the cranberries burst and the mixture thickens.

Washing the cranberries is essential, as is picking out the bad ones.

Put the cranberries into a pot with water and sugar.

 

Bring to a boil, mash and stir as it boils to create your cranberry sauce. You will hear the lovely popping of the cranberries!

Once it’s a bit thick, reduce the heat and then add the other three ingredients to complete the cranberry sauce. While the cranberry sauce is simmering, you could be working on your stuffing, such as our homemade cornbread stuffing!

Let it simmer for about 8 minutes. Put it into a nice bowl and chill, or serve it hot. Your cranberry sauce is ready to enjoy.

Ingredients

Units Scale

6 cups fresh cranberries
1 1/2 c water
1 1/2 c sugar
1/4 c brown sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 orange – cut up small


Instructions

  1. Wash and pick out cranberries that look bad.
  2. Put cranberries into pot with water and sugar. Bring to boil, mash and stir as it boils.
  3. Once it’s a bit thick, reduce the heat and add the other three ingredients.
  4. Let it simmer for about 8 minutes, put it into a nice bowl and chill or serve it hot.
  5. Enjoy!
