A short story has come to mind.. I went to check on the children outside one day and caught little Zoe running out of our neighbor’s garage, out of breath, and excited. Before I said anything she said, “They borned a baby, and she is brown, her name is Zoe!” How sweet this girl, what praise to God.
My husband and I later wondered if she ever noticed that they were not the same color as us. Maybe, yes, but she never thought long enough to comment on it. So we came to the conclusion that because momma’s babies are not brown, it just surprised her with delight!
I grew up with much of my life centered around racism and hate. We moved away from that area, and are happy that there are never discussions at our table pointing at color differences in people. We talk about people, and people are what people are. Color doesn’t make someone moral or immoral.
The new president’s agenda does not honor God. We want our children to only understand the moral issues of difference in our disapproval. We trust the Lord will allow them to see. And it’s a good thing we don’t have television, they’d be ruined.
Blessings, Theresa
well written. I had to chuckle when she said they “borned” a baby. My children say that too.
Hi! Tanya and Melonie, this is one my favorite stories. “Borned a baby”, she was just too cute. Isn’t it lovely though when the Lord shows you so much innocence, and then tells us to be the same; have the faith of a child.
